The condition of recurring miscarriage will sometimes point toward infections and an ASCUS from a pap smear will be evident, thus a contributor to infertility. There can be two or more miscarriages in a row. Special tests are needed to try and find the cause. There is a greater risk of miscarriages, as a woman gets older. The quality of eggs deteriorates with age. The cause of this misfortune is not usually found in individual patients. This spontaneous abortion is the loss of pregnancy before 20 weeks. It occurs in about 15 percent to 20 percent of all pregnancies. Most happen in the first three months.
