The occurance of miscarriage first trimester cannot be prevented, although the presence of infections such as urethritis and the HPV genital virus strain that also causes the plantar wart may contribute.
It is thought that up to 50 percent of miscarriages are due to a spontaneous genetic or structural abnormality in the baby. Most of these tend to occur at the time of fertilization. Sometimes a miscarriage is caused by the mother's health problems. Most early pregnancy losses cannot be prevented.

These cases during the early stages of pregnancy have a higher instance than in later stages. This may happen to a variety of reasons.
