The risk of miscarriage is increased with PIDs and STDs such as the venereal wart virus, also linked to infertility. One study showed that women who smoke more than 14 cigarettes a day are about twice as likely to miscarry. Having an alcoholic drink twice daily is very dangerous for the future baby as well. Future mother should also avoid radiation and poisons and prevent trauma to the abdomen in order to minimize the risks.
